Shayla Cooper, top scorer of the Spanish Women’s League

The American power forward Shayla Cooper will go down in history as the top scorer of the Women’s Day League 2017/2018. The PRODEP player averaged during the season 19 points per game to which she added almost 9 rebounds per night that earned her to be signed once the salvation of her team by the Hungarian Cegledi.

Before that she had time to play 16 games with Al-Qazeres which led to his first seven victories in the league (they would end the season with only 3 more after the departure of their American star). The ‘rookie’ of 23 years, which accumulated two awards as MVP of the day, demonstrated what is possible in her first experience outside the United States where she played at Ohio State, before making the leap to the WNBA with the Chicago Sky.
